BONNEVILLE COUNTY PROSECUTING ATTORNEY CALLS FOR MORE LAW SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES
IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO. Bonneville County Prosecuting Attorney Randy Neal is calling upon the University of Idaho College of Law to consider expanding the opportunities for residents of eastern Idaho to attend law school here in this area.
“The legal profession has seen historic attorney shortages over the last few years,” Neal explained, “and the public sector has been particularly hard hit.”
Neal believes the lack of law school accessibility in eastern Idaho has hit our region harder.
“There are people in this area who want to attend law school, but they cannot leave the area for years to accomplish the goal.”
“The University of Idaho has shown that distance learning can expand opportunities to attend law school in a place other than just the Moscow campus.”
Neal is asking University officials to consider using the Idaho Falls campus for a satellite program to allow local residents to remain in our area and yet complete a course of study.
“Some local community leaders have already voiced support for the idea,” Neal said, “and I look forward to the University’s response.”
