America 250 - Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Idaho Falls, Idaho — Bonneville County invites the public to join in a special commemorative event celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence. As part of the nationwide America 250 observance, Bonneville County will host a public reading of the Declaration of Independence on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Upper Rotunda of the Bonneville County Courthouse, 605 North Capital Avenue, Idaho Falls.

The event will include a ceremonial reading of the Declaration of Independence, patriotic music, and light refreshments. Community members, local leaders, and visitors are encouraged to attend and take part in this historic milestone honoring the founding principles of the United States.

This anniversary provides an opportunity for our community to reflect on the ideals of liberty, democracy, and civic responsibility that continue to shape our nation. We invite residents of Bonneville County and the region to join us in celebrating this important moment in American history.
