AMMON — A former Ammon city councilman who suddenly resigned in December is now in police custody.
Idaho State Police arrested Byron Wiscombe Wednesday morning, according to ISP Lt. Marvin Crane.
Officials did not immediately say why he was taken into custody, but more information is expected to be released later in the day.

Wiscombe resigned without explanation from his Ammon City Council position on Dec. 2 after recently being elected to serve another term with the city. Wiscombe had been with the city council eight years before his resignation.
